Question:

I entered into consummer proposal in December '09 and agreed to pay $15000 over five years. At the time i was working full time and was making too much money to qualify for bankruptcy. Now I am on sick leave, was turned down for benefits and if I get EI benefits they will be only 55%. What are my options now if I cannot pay the $250/months for the initial proposal?

Answer:

You always have the option to file a bankruptcy if you are unable to meet the terms of your proposal and your circumstances have obviously changed.
