Question:

How long from the last payment on a credit card does the credit card company have to collect?

From:

Alger & Associates Inc.

Date:

Jul 19, 2010

Answer:

There is a statute of limitations in Alberta but it's not as clear cut as the date of last payment. It's more the date of last collection effort and it's 2 years from that date but there are other variables a court may consider and if the creditor gets a judgment, the time extends much further.
