there is a judgment against me and I am on medical leave from my job. I just began Cpp disabilty , and my long term disabilty insurance plan will pay a certain amount and Cpp pays. I only collect 2200.00 per month. can this income be garnished? and if I would delcare bankrupcty what would happen. I also declared bankruptcy 7 years ago when my husband died. I am remarried but my current husband does not work ( alcoholic) so I am th weonly income. what can I do?

Answer:

 

Yes, your income can be garnisheed - at least the CPP portion but generally only by other Government depts. You didn't mention who your creditors were. You can file bankruptcy for the second time as long as you were discharged from the first - the process takes a little longer to get discharged. You should contact our office with a list of your creditors so we can advise you better.
