Question:

I am basically going through a really bad divorce and when it started I jsut wanted to end it quick, be fair and get on with my life. My X has done everything in her power to drag this out, make me spend thousands on lawyer fees and pay tons of bills. Well now I'm broke, my credit is distroyed and I am facing declaring bankruptcy. What is my recourse against her for doing this and what happens if you declare bankruptcy during a divorce?

Answer:

Please feel free to contact our office to discuss your situation in more detail. We can then review your options including making an informal or formal proposal to your creditors, orderly payment of debt or bankrupty. With respect to your divorce proceedings, please note that child support, maintenance and alimony are debts that are not discharged by a bankruptcy.
