As a result of the recent merger of Alger and Grant Thornton, Alger was left with a surplus of unique computers. Advocates for recycling electronics, we connected with the ERA and arranged for the donation. The charity recipients are a local school, chosen based on an existing staff relationship. The school, Providence Calgary, is a therapeutic and educational preschool for children with disabilities, an organization that just so happened to be in need of these very specific computer systems.
On March 23rd, Bruce Alger and the ERA dropped by Providence Calgary to facilitate the donation and tour the facility. Meeting with the representatives from Providence, it was clear that the computers could not have come at a better time. Already having completed the research into purchasing these unique computers, the organization was instead able keep the money that would have otherwise been spent and invest it back directly where it matters most, the children.
